Logan Brown Earns All-Tournament Team in Leading Bowling to Third Place Finish at Bud Whitman Memorial

NEW CASTLE, Del. - - The Wilmington University bowling team defeated Molloy, 4-1, in bracket play to finish third at the Bud Whitman Memorial Tournament this weekend. Logan Smith finished second overall after five traditional matches on Saturday, earning All-Tournament Team status.

Despite going 1-3 in Traditional matches on Saturday, the Wildcats sat in third place with a total pinfall of 4,537, averaging 181.5 pins per game. The Wildcats then went 3-1 in Baker play on Sunday, setting up a third-place match with Molloy. The Wildcats dropped the first game, 202-167, but fought back by winning the next four games, capping the comeback with a 223-159 victory in game five to win, 4-1, and place third overall.

On Saturday, the Wildcats were led by junior transfer Logan Brown, averaging a 211.80 in five matches. Her 1,059 is tied for the fifth best individual showing in a five-game traditional series in program history. She started out with a 251 against Molloy and then followed that up with a 188 against the bye, a 210 against Chestnut Hill, a 224 against #23 Delaware State, and finished with a 186 against Felician.

KC Miller finished 10th overall for the Wildcats, finishing the day off with back-to-back 200 games. She bowled games of 171-205-113-226-214 for a 929, averaging 185.80 for the day.

Eleni Feggulis finished 12th overall with a 914, also finishing the day strong with a day's best 227 against Felician. She bowled games of 170-199-165-153-227 for a 914, averaging 182.80 per game.

Sydney Jones was the final Wildcat to bowl all five games, finishing in 26th place with a total of 845. She averaged 169.00 pins per game, bowling games of 180-174-194-146-151.

Genna Closs bowled the first game for the Wildcats, and then came back on to bowl matches four and five. She finished with a 432 total pinfall, averaging 144.00 per game. She bowled matches of 127-0-0-179-126 to end her day.

Freshman Miranda Dudas bowled the two middle matches for the Wildcats, averaging 179.00 with game a game of 172 against the bye and 186 against Chestnut Hill.

Long Island University's Charlize Wanner earned medalist honors on Saturday with a total pinfall of 1,096, averaging 219.20 in the five matches.

Long Island defeated Delaware State in the championship match, 4-3, to win the Bud Whitman Memorial.

The Wildcats return to action on Saturday, November 11 when they take part in the first ever CACC Regular Season Meet hosted by Bloomfield in Rockaway, New Jersey. The two-day tournament will be held at Rockaway Lanes.
