Sydney Jones Earns MVP Status With Personal Record 286 to Lead Wilmington Bowling at CACC Meet

ROCKAWAY, N.J. - - The Wilmington University bowling team has a 445-pin lead over the field after the first day of the inaugural CACC Regular Season Meet, going 4-1 with a total pinfall of 4,579 in traditional matches at Rockaway Lanses on Saturday.

The Wildcats also had three All-Tournament performers, led by Tournament MVP Sydney Jones. She jumped the field with a massive 286 in her final match, finishing with a 982 for a 196.40 average to lead the field. Logan Brown finished third overall and KC Miller was right behind her in fourth overall.

The day started with a 962-827 win against Felician before a minor step back with an 947-825 loss to Chestnut Hill. But then the Wildcats won the last three matches, beating Caldwell, 849-814, Holy Family, 869-542, and then a massive 1,074-621 victory against Bloomfield to wrap up the day. That is the third most pins in a traditional match for the Wildcats in program history.

Sydney Jones won medalist honors on Saturday with a 196.40 match average but didn't put herself in that position until the final match. Her 286 against Bloomfield is the third best individual match in program history, behind only Sinoda Cook's 300-game in the 2017-18 season and KC Miller's 287 in the 2021-22 season. She bowls games of 183-178-181-154-286 for a 982 total, beating Felician's Vivian Luna by eight pins.

Logan Brown was third in the standings with a 190.20 average, bowling two games over 200 on the day. She started with a 210 against Felician and then bowled matches of 183, 149, and 170 before finishing with a 230 against Bloomfield. She totaled a 951 on Saturday.

KC Miller finished right behind Brown in fourth place with a 186.40 average for a 932 total. She started with her best game of the day, a 226 agaisnt Felician, and then bowled games of 161, 197, 163, and 185.

Eleni Fuggulis finished just outside the All-Tournament Team with a sixth place finish, bowling an 891 for a 178.20 average on Saturday. She bowled games of 187, 147, 162, and 186, before finishing with her day's best 209 against Bloomfield.

Miranda Dudas bowled the first two matches of the day for the Wildcats with games of 147 and 156 before Genna Closs finished off the day with games of 160, 196, and 164 for the Wildcats.

Caldwell and Chestnut Hill also finished 4-1 on the day, but behind the Wildcats in total pinfall. Caldwell was second with 4,134 total pins while Chestnut Hill was 4-1 with a total pinfall of 4,022.

The inaugural CACC Meet concludes on Sunday with five Baker Matches at Rockaway Lanes.
