Bowling Evades Elimination, Will Face No. 1 Caldwell in CACC Championship Final

SOUTHAMPTON, Pa. - - The Wilmington University women's bowling team avoided elimination and advanced to the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Championship Series against No. 1 Caldwell on Sunday.

In the first match of the day, the second seeded Wildcats dropped a mega match to No. 1 Caldwell, 2-1, in the CACC Tournament winner's bracket semifinals.  The then faced No. 3 Felician in an elimination bracket, but the Wildcats were able to come away with the 2-0 victory and makes its way to the CACC Championship series.

MATCH VS. No. 1 CALDWELL:
Caldwell jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the team scoring match, defeating the Wildcats, 983-854. But then the Wildcats kept the match alive with in the total pinfall Baker match, winning, 951-855, to force the best-of-seven Baker match to decide the match. The Wildcats won the first game of the best-of-seven, 178-167, but then the Cougars stormed back and took the next for games to take the game, 4-1, and the match, 2-1. They won 165-158 in game two, 188-154, in game three, 200-177, in game four, and 213-177, in game give to close it out.

In the team scoring, the Wildcats were led by Logan Brown's 195 while Eleni Feggulis had a 194.

MATCH VS. No. 3 FELICIAN:
Now facing elimination, the Wildcats took on Felician for a spot in the CACC Championship series on Sunday.

The Wildcats came out and won the team scoring match, 924-893, to take a 1-0 lead and then closed out the match in the total pinfall Baker match, winning 974-956.

UP NEXT:
The Wildcats face Caldwell once again on Sunday, needing to defeat the Cougars twice in the double-elimination tournament. If the Wildcats win the mega match to start the day, the teams will then compete in one final best-of-seven Baker match to determine a CACC Champion. The first roll against the Cougars is scheduled for 12:00 p.m.
