
NEW CASTLE, Del. - - Following five traditional matches on Saturday afternoon, Wilmington University bowling senior Logan Brown has earned All-Tournament status after placing fifth overall as the team hosts its 7th Annual Wildcat DII/DIII Invite at Bowlerama this weekend.
Logan Brown (Waldorf, Md.) finished with a total pinfall of 1,055 in five matches, going for a 211.00 average. Emmanuel's Danielle Fendenheim earned top honors on Saturday after bowling a 1,147 in five games for a 229.40 average. Felician's Ashley Ferrara was second with a 1,081 (216.20 avg.) while teammate Vivian Luna was third with a 1,069 (213.80 avg.). Newman's Vanessa Noftsier was fourth with a 1,058 (211.00), as all five Top 5 finishers earned a spot on the All-Tournament Team.
On Friday, the Wildcats went 1-4 in Baker matches to kick off the Invitational. They bowled a team best 891 against Molloy and defeated St. Thomas Aquinas, 735-586, in the last match of the Day. They were sitting in 11th place after Friday.
Moving to the Traditional matches on Saturday, the Wildcats jumped up to 9th place overall, going 3-1 in head-to-head matches. They defeated D'Youville, 888-872, and Adelphi, 929-864, before falling to Emmanuel, 902-851. They bounced back and defeated Kutztown, 931-899, before bowling a day's best 945 against the bye.
Miranda Dudas finished 13th overall with a 990 total pinfall, going for a 198.00 average. She bowled a day's best 229 against Emmanuel and also had a 228 against Adelphi.
Sydney Jones placed 21st overall with a 968 total pinfall, going for a 193.60 average. She had a Wilmington best 245 in the final match of the day while also hitting a 221 against Kutztown.
Genna Closs placed 33rd overall with an 886 total pinfall, going for a 177.20 average. She bowled a 200 in the win over Adelphi while also going for a 197 in the win over Kutztown.
Bowling in her first Traditional tournament, Alexa Pacheo placed 50th overall out of 83 total bowlers, finishing with a 645 for a 129.00 average. She bowled a day's high 148 in the opening match against D'Youville and had a 141 to close the afternoon against the bye.
The Wildcats will battle in bracket play on Sunday to determine final placement to wrap up the Wildcat DII/DIII Invitational.
