LYNDHURST, N.J. - - Kaitlyn Slater tied the single-game program record with six RBI in game two at Felician, giving the Wilmington University softball team the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference split on the road, falling 5-4 in the opener before winning 7-0 in the nightcap on Tuesday afternoon at the Lyndhurst Recreation Complex.

The home run ruled the day on Tuesday, as a Felician (18-19, 9-9 CACC) grand slam led the way for the game one win before the Wildcats' (25-15, 12-8) third baseman hit two homers in the night cap to pick up the split.

In the opener, the Wildcats put three on the board in the top of the second, getting an RBI bunt single from Slater, a passed ball, and an RBI groundout by Becca Stanley.

The Golden Falcons threatened by loading the bases in the second and leaving two more on in the third, but didn't get to starter Caitlyn Whiteside until the bottom of the fifth inning. Two hits and a walk loaded the bases with two outs and Felician's Steph Donah hit a full count pitch out of the park, giving the home team a 4-3 lead with one swing of the bat.

Danielle Bradley led off the top of the seventh by getting hit by a pitch and the re-entered Becca Stanley was standing on third base with only one out. Rosa'Lynn Burton then singled to left field, tying the game at 4-4.

But the Golden Falcons answered right back in the bottom of the seventh, putting runners on second and third with only one out. The Golden Falcons' walked off with the 5-4 win on a Donah RBI single.

The nightcap was the Kaitlyn Slater Show, as she started the scoring in the top of the fourth. Bradley walked with one out in the inning and Slater stepped in and deposited a pitch over the left field fence for her fifth home run of the year.

Bradley knocked in Jayme Richardson with an RBI single in the fifth before Slater added to her RBI total with an RBI single, giving the Wildcats a 4-0 lead.

The senior capped the scoring in the top of the seventh inning, smacking a three-run shot to left field for her sixth round-tripper of the year, finishing her day 4-for-4 with six RBI.

That was more than enough for Bradley in the circle, as she tossed her second complete game shutout of the year. She struck out four while only allowing six hits to improve to 8-5 on the year.

Jazmeen Llamas went 3-for-4 in game while before adding a 2-for-4 performance in the nightcap. Slater went 1-for-3 with an RBI in the opener, bringing her day's total to seven RBI for the doubleheader.

The Wildcats continue their busy week on Wednesday, but return home to Asbury Field to square off against East Stroudsburg. The non-conference doubleheader is set to start at 2:30 p.m.
