
NEWARK, Del. - - The Wilmington University cheerleading team is going for its ninth consecutive Small Coed Division II National Championship the weekend of January 17-18 when they compete in the 2020 College Cheerleading and Dance Team National Championships at the ESPN World Wide of Sports Complex.
But the Wilmington community can have the first look at their 2020 National Championship routine this coming Sunday, January 12. The team will be holding a Nationals Send-Off party at the WU Athletics Complex to showcase their Nationals routine one last time before leaving for Orlando. Doors will open at 5:00 p.m. with the performance of the team at 5:15 p.m.

The Wildcats, who have won each of the past Small Coed Division II National Championships since 2012, will take to the stage for the first time on Saturday morning at 9:16 a.m. in the Semifinal round.
The judges will then announce the Small Coed Division II Finalists and draw for order of competition at 11:30 a.m. The final round of competition begins with the first of six advancing teams at 3:30 p.m. An awards ceremony for the Small Coed Division II National Champion is scheduled to begin between 6:30 and 7:00 p.m.
The winner of each division will then have an opportunity to perform their routine once more, this time in front of ESPN cameras, which will be aired on the networks at a later date.
