Wildcats Lead With Five Honorees as CACC Announces 2022-23 Men’s Golf All-Academic Team

NEW HAVEN, Conn. - - Eighteen (18) student-athletes on Monday were named to the 2022-23 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Men's Golf All-Academic Team, as announced by Commissioner Dan Mara. Six of the seven CACC schools that compete in the sport were represented on the All-Academic Team.

To be eligible for CACC All-Academic status, a student-athlete must: a) Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 at the end of immediate preceding term (may include summer for fall sport participants); b) Minimum of two semesters enrolled as full-time student at member institution; c) Student-athlete must be second year student-athlete at member institution.

Wilmington University led the way with five honorees on the list. Post University was next with four standouts making the team.

The Wildcats were led by three-time honoree Nathan Potts while Jan Lekes and Matthew Pulginis are two-time honorees. Tyler Cleaves and Pablo Quintero join the CACC All-Academic Team for the first time in their careers.

NOTES ON ALL-ACADEMIC TEAM:

  • Two student-athletes posted perfect 4.0 cumulative grade point averages (Post's Amal Jha and WilmU's Jan Lekes).
  • Four student-athletes notched GPAs of 3.90 or higher.
  • Five were named to the CACC Men's Golf All-Academic Team for the third time in their respective careers.
  • Four were named to the unit for the second time in their respective careers.
  • CACC Champion Goldey-Beacom College had a pair of players make the team, and included Adrian Bonilla (3.84) and Hunter McGee (3.52).
