NEWARK, Del. - - Sophomore Lorne Bickley set a new single game program record with four goals as the Wilmington University men's soccer team opened Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Play with a 10-1 victory over Felician on Sunday afternoon at the WU Athletics Complex.

There has been five hat tricks in the Wildcats' (1-1-2, 1-0 CACC) NCAA era, but Bickley's four goals sets the new mark. He scored three of his goals in the first half. The 10 goals are the third time in program history the team reached double figures, defeating the District of Columbia, 10-1, in 2008 and defeating Goldey-Beacom, 11-0, in 2011.

Bickley started the scoring in the 19th minute, putting away a low cross form the left side by Abdul Mansaray for his second goal of the season. Less than five minute later, Bickley was at it again, putting home a pass from Ben Jordan down the middle of the box, finding himself in alone on the keeper. He completed the first half hat trick in the 28th minute, getting a through ball down the middle from Manuel Ruiz Luque for a one-on-one with the keeper again.

The Golden Falcons (1-3, 0-1 CACC) made it interesting before the half, getting on the board in the 35th minute. Leading 3-1 at the break, the Wildcats also led 6-3 in shots in the first half.

Bickley continued the personal onslaught and set the single game record for the Wildcats with another goal in the 58th minute. He once again found himself in free on the keeper after Dimitrios Topouzlis slotted him a ball down the middle.

Then the floodgates opened.

Mansaray scored his first collegiate career goal in the 65th minute for a 5-1 lead before Tom Garratt put his name in the score sheet with his first collegiate career goal in the 70th minute. Daniel Loyo made it 7-1 in favor of the Wildcats in the 72nd minute, converting a corner kick opportunity with a header at the near post.

Nahshon Little came on and scored his first collegiate career goal by beating the keeper to a ball at the top of the box in the 79th minute. Joe Bell also scored his first collegiate career goal on the 84th minute, again getting behind the defense to be in alone on the keeper. Adrian Coverdale capped the scoring in the 86th minute, again scoring a career first goal with the assist from Joel Flores.

The Wildcats put up 20 shots in the second half to finish ahead of Felician, 26-9, in shots for the match.

Starting goalkeeper Vinny Tasca did not record a save in 62 minute before giving way to Conor Halsted for the final 32 minutes. In his first action of 2017, Halsted made three stops to close the door.

The Wildcats remain in CACC play with their next contest, as they head to Holy Family for their first road contest of the year on Wednesday afternoon. The first whistle is set for 4:00 p.m.
