
NEWARK, Del. - - The Wilmington University women's tennis team has hit its highest national ranking in program history, moving up to No. 11 in this week's Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Division II National Poll.
The Wildcats moved up nine spots to No. 11 in Wednesday's poll. They went on to defeated Millersville, 6-1, in the 2025 spring opener to remain undefeated on the season at 13-0.
The Wildcats jumped New Haven as the highest ranked team from the East Region, despite New Haven moving up as well. After the Wildcats at No. 11, representing the East Region is No. 13 New Haven, No. 31 Adelphi, No. 34 Queens, No. 39, Chestnut Hill, No. 40 District of Columbia, No. 42. St. Thomas Aquinas, and No. 48 Goldey-Beacom College.
The Wildcats will play each of those ranked teams outside the CACC at some point this spring.
Wilmington welcome in-state foe Delaware State to the Delcastle Tennis Center for their next match on Saturday night. The first serve against the NCAA Division I opponent is set for 6:00 p.m.
