Four Wildcats Take Place on 2022 CACC Cross Country All-Academic Teams

NEW HAVEN, Conn. - - Forty (40) student-athletes on Thursday were named to the 2022 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Cross Country All-Academic Teams, as announced by Commissioner Dan Mara. Nine CACC schools that compete in the sport were represented on the All-Academic Team.

To be eligible for CACC All-Academic status, a student-athlete must: a) Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 at the end of immediate preceding term (may include summer for fall sport participants); b) Minimum of two semesters enrolled as full-time student at member institution; c) Student-athlete must be second year student-athlete at member institution.

Alexa Crowell is a four-time honoree for the Wildcats, rounding out an outstanding career on the course and in the classroom. She continues to carry a 3.74 cumulative grade point average while studying Business.

Logan Strouse, the back-to-back recipient of the CACC Top XVI Award for academic excellence at the CACC Championships, leads the men's squad with his third All-Academic Team honor with a perfect 4.00 cumulative GPA. Dan Wyshinski makes his second appearance on the All-Academic Team this season while Hayward Boutte makes it three Wildcats on this year's team.

Thomas Jefferson University led the way with five honorees on the women's team, while Holy Family University posted four harriers on the squad.

NOTES ON WOMEN'S ALL-ACADEMIC TEAM

  • Four student-athletes posted perfect 4.0 cumulative grade point averages, including a trio from HFU (Kaitlyn Durning, Amber Fisgaer & Ashley Fisgaer) and Caldwell University's Ana Gonzalez Martin.
  • Seven student-athletes notched GPAs of 3.90 or higher.
  • Wilmington's Alexa Crowell was named to the team for the fourth time in her career.
  • Four student-athletes were named to the CACC Women's Cross Country All-Academic Team for the third time in their respective careers (Chestnut Hill College's Lily Short, Felician University's Ashley Linares, HFU's Shania LeMaitre and Jefferson's Kyleigh Percy).
  • Six were named to the unit for the second time in their respective careers.

NOTES ON MEN'S ALL-ACADEMIC TEAM

  • Two student-athletes posted perfect 4.0 cumulative grade point averages, including Jefferson's Owen Bradley and Logan Strouse of WilmU.
  • Five student-athletes notched GPAs of 3.90 or higher.
  • Three student-athletes were named to the CACC Men's Cross Country All-Academic Team for the third time in their respective careers (Bradley, Strouse & Jefferson's Chris Corsaro).
  • Eight were named to the unit for the second time in their respective careers.
