Men’s Cross Country Moves Up to No. 6 in Final Regular Season USTFCCCA East Region Poll

NEWARK, Del. - - The Wilmington University men's cross country team will head into the postseason ranked as the top Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference team in the latest United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association East Region Poll.

Following their second-place finish at the NJIT Highlander Invite on October 12, which featured besting Caldwell in the standings by six points, the Wildcats leapfrogged Caldwell up to No. 6 this week.

Southern Connecticut State and Roberts Wesleyan flip-flopped spots atop the East Region standings as well, with SCSU overtaking the top spot. Bentley remained at third while Assumption moved up a spot to No. 4. Adelphi made the biggest leap this week up to No. 5 followed by Wilmington and Caldwell. Franklin Pierce remains at No. 8 while Southern New Hampshire dropped from No. 4 to No. 8 this week. Saint Michael's cracks the Top 10 this week to round out the final East Region Poll prior to conference championship weekend.

The Wildcats took this weekend off to prepare for the CACC Championship on Sunday, October 27 on Belmont Plateau. The Wildcats are the defending champions and will be vying for their eighth men's title since 2012.
