ALTOONA, Pa. - - The Wilmington University women's bowling team picked up two more wins on the second day of the Red Flash Invitational on Saturday, hosted by St. Francis College at the Holiday Bowl.
Saturday got off to a great start for the Wildcats, as they defeated PSU-Altoona, 713-588, producing their highest score of the afternoon. The day followed with losses to St. Francis (N.Y.), Morgan State, and Pitt-Bradford, before ending the day with another victory over PSU-Altoona in the fifth match.
Graduate student Rakia Jenkins paced the Wildcats on Saturday, averaging 174.6 pins per match, totaling a score of 873. She posted a 198 against St. Francis (N.Y.) before ending her day with a 193 against PSU-Altoona in the win.
Monique Rojas led the Wildcats in the first victory over PSU-Altoona, posting a 175 game. She also collected another 175 against St. Francis (N.Y.) on her way to a 150.6 average on the day. In the five matches, she posted a score of 753.
Kaley Smith averaged 131.4 pins per match, putting down a day's best 149 in the fifth and final match against PSU-Altoona. Alyssa Kalafut averaged 111.6 pins per match on her way to a total of 558, collecting a day's best 148 in the first victory against PSU-Altoona. Auryonah Nash finished with a 88.8 average, scoring a day's best 117 against PSU-Altoona in the first match of the afternoon.
The Wildcats will wrap up the Red Flash Invitational with three position-round baker matches on Sunday at the Holiday Bowl.
