Men's Soccer vs. Felician (CACC 1st Round)
November 09, 2021Win number 200 for head coach Nick Papanicolas was something special, as the WIlmington University men's soccer team defeated Felician, 6-0, in the first round of the CACC Tournament on Monday at the WU Athletics Complex. Shawn Genus recorded a hat trick while Shoki Yoshida scored twice as well. Max Norden added the sixth goal for the Wildcats who advance to the CACC Semifinals for the eighth time in the last nine seasons. Now in his 18th year at the helm of the Wildcats, Papanicolas is 200-106-33, a .639 winning percentage. The Wildcats face No. 3 Dominican in the CACC Semifinals at Post University. Men's Soccer vs. Chestnut Hill
November 03, 2021The Wilmington University men's soccer team clinch at least a share of the CACC Regular Season Championship for the third straight season (2018 and 2019) with a 3-0 win against Chestnut Hill on Tuesday. The Wildcats outshot the Griffins, 31-2, in the match, but only led 1-0 at the half with a goal from Gabriel Marin. Hakim Williams then scored twice in a two-minute span in the second half to give the Wildcats some breathing room. The Wildcats will have a home game in the CACC Tournament First Round as a No. 1 or No. 2 seed, depending on the final game of the regular season between Post and Felician on Thursday. October 28, 2021The 13th ranked Wildcats came back from a 2-0 halftime deficit with a pair of goals by Carson Talboys, but Georgian Court came to Newark and upset the Wildcats, 3-2, in overtime. It is the first loss at the WU Athletics Complex for the Wildcats since the 2017 CACC Tournament against Post, a span of 28 games, going 27-0-1 ovverall.
